After studying Fine Art at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, he established himself as a professional sculptor in 1986, developing an exceptional understanding of traditional hand-carving techniques. Working with the natural qualities of stone, he allows its texture, structure and character to influence each sculpture, occasionally incorporating light to introduce an unexpected contemporary dimension.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis work ranges from powerful standing forms and sculptural portals to intricate carvings that explore the relationship between solid material and open space. Curves, openings and carefully balanced proportions create a sense of movement within the permanence of stone.
