This allowed subtle irregularities to remain within an otherwise precise geometry. The original was then translated into bronze using the lost-wax process, capturing the texture and layered character of the slate surface in a permanent material.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe idea was inspired by slate from the western islands of Scotland, where iron pyrite can appear as naturally occurring cubic crystals within the stone. Often known as “fool’s gold,” pyrite catches the light with flashes of brilliance inside a darker, more restrained material. Cube pays quiet homage to these hidden geometries, reconstructing in sculptural form the very shape found within the stone itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFixed to a circular bronze mounting plate, Cube has a light visual footprint while remaining stable.
