VERGÄNGLICHKEIT (Limitierte Auflage von 9)

Jonathans Inspiration: Ich hatte die Idee für 'Transience' während meines Aufenthalts in Glyndebourne, East Sussex. Es kam mir einfach in den Sinn: das Bild eines Kirschblütenbaums, die Schönheit der Blüte, die so flüchtig erscheint. Die Verbindung zwischen der japanischen 'Sakura' und der Geschichte von 'Madame Butterfly', einer Oper, die ich während meiner Arbeit für die English National Opera oft gesehen hatte, musste erst noch ausgearbeitet werden. Da die Bäume in der japanischen Kultur ohnehin als Metapher für Schönheit und Vergänglichkeit stehen, hätte es nicht besser zur Geschichte der Geisha Cio-Cio-San passen können.
