Jonathans Inspiration: „Papillon“ wurde ursprünglich von den gleichnamigen Filmen inspiriert. Für mich steckt viel Bedeutung dahinter, aber im Grunde denke ich, dass er darüber nachdenkt, wie es wäre, sich zu öffnen, diesen Sprung zu wagen. Ich kann mich leicht mit diesem Werk identifizieren, mit den Herausforderungen, denen ich im Leben begegnet bin, und dass es nicht immer einfach ist, diese ersten Schritte zu tun. Das Potenzial für Freiheit wurde durch die herausfordernde Anordnung der Monarchfalter und ihre Neigung zu fliegen noch stärker betont.
