MERCEDES 300SL (Limited Edition)

Srini Gandra creates automotive art inspired by the styling models, aerodynamic studies and design language behind the world’s most iconic cars. Forme di Velocità series explores these shapes through the eyes of a designer and the heart of a collector - stripping away the detail to reveal the pure form, character and emotion of the automobile.

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, One of the defining automotive designs of the post-war era, its long bonnet, low-slung stance and unmistakable gullwing doors give it a silhouette unlike any other. Beneath its elegant proportions lies a pioneering approach to lightweight construction and aerodynamic efficiency, creating a car where engineering and sculpture are inseparably connected. Every surface, contour and transition speaks to the pursuit of speed, balance and purpose: a design that has remained enduringly captivating since its arrival from Stuttgart.

The sculpture is not intended to be merely a scale model, but an expression of the pure soul of the car. Each sculpture is carefully hand-sanded and refined before being finished and painted to the collector’s specification. This example is presented in Silver Grey metallic but also customised to collector’s specifications.
