OCTOPUS (Édition limitée à 12 exemplaires)

J'ai toujours admiré les arts traditionnels japonais, en particulier les créatures magnifiquement stylisées des anciennes estampes et les okimono en bronze élégamment façonnés. Ces œuvres parviennent à capturer l'essence de la nature sans être trop contraintes par le réalisme.

C'est pourquoi, en sculptant cette pieuvre, j'ai voulu la créer autant que possible de mémoire, en imaginant presque une version de la pieuvre telle que je la vois dans mon esprit plutôt que de me laisser distraire par des détails précis. Pour cette raison, il ne s'agit pas d'une espèce particulière, mais plutôt d'une version stylisée telle que je l'imagine.

J'aimais l'idée de sortir la pieuvre de son environnement naturel pour l'exposer de manière artificielle. Le socle rigide en cube d'acier contraste avec la nature presque liquide et fluide de la pieuvre, créant une tension entre ces deux formes très différentes.
