Ana Herrero
Automotive Realism | Precision & Irony | Icons Reimagined
Ana Herrero is a contemporary artist whose paintings bring together technical mastery and conceptual play. Originally trained as an Industrial Design Engineer, she spent years designing for aerospace and advanced manufacturing before turning to art - a shift that gave her an unparalleled understanding of how machines breathe, how lines carry purpose, and how innovation becomes beauty.
For much of her career Ana has focused on hyper-realistic depictions of legendary cars - Ferrari 250 GTOs, McLaren F1 racers, vintage Bentleys and Rolls-Royces - painting them with extraordinary fidelity and presence. Each large-scale acrylic canvas is a tribute not just to design and engineering excellence but to the cultural mythology of motoring itself, turning mechanical icons into timeless visual statements.
Recently her practice has taken a bold turn with what she calls Post-Kitsch Pop Art. Works like Aston Martin DB3S Balloon and Mini 007 Balloon play with paradox - pairing the weight and status of classic cars with the fragility of balloon animals and theatrical colour. In these new compositions, power meets vulnerability, nostalgia meets critique, and luxury becomes unexpectedly playful.
Ana’s work has been exhibited at venues including the Royal Automobile Club’s Art of Motoring Exhibition, Escapade Silverstone, the Iconic Gallery in London, and at major automotive events such as Goodwood Revival, Goodwood Members’ Meeting, Shelsley Walsh, The Classic Motor Show at the NEC, and The Motorist. Through this dual path - rigorous realism and daring conceptual reinvention - Ana Herrero has become a singular voice, bridging automotive heritage with contemporary art’s wit, elegance, and cultural commentary.
