Traditional Blacksmithing | Hand-Forged Detail | Contemporary Bladecraft
Beggs Forge is the work of Em Beggs - a Brighton-based cutler and blacksmith with a distinctive approach to contemporary metalwork. After six years in professional kitchens, including time at The Set Restaurant, Beggs travelled to Osaka to study traditional bladecraft in Sakai, Japan - the birthplace of many of the world’s finest knives.
When the pandemic forced an early return to the UK, Beggs used the setback as a turning point - channelling years of hands-on experience with knives and skills learned from Sakai’s master blacksmiths into a new direction. What began as a response to challenge quickly became a calling.
Today, Beggs Forge produces heirloom-quality cutlery, jewellery, and forged goods - each piece shaped by fire, hammer, and provenance. Working exclusively with salvaged and repurposed materials, Beggs brings new life to the forgotten, the broken, and the worn - crafting objects that carry history and are built to last.
This is blacksmithing rooted in tradition, reimagined for the present - where every mark tells a story, and nothing is made without purpose.
