Duffy London
SCULPTURAL FURNITURE | ILLUSION & ENGINEERING | STATEMENT DESIGN
Duffy London is a British design studio creating limited-edition furniture that sits between functional object and contemporary sculpture. Led by founder Christopher Duffy, the studio has built a global reputation for work that challenges perception - exploring gravity, depth and geometry to create pieces that appear to defy the rules of structure and space. As Duffy himself notes, “I’ve always been interested in the power of illusion and the power of that illusion to grip your attention.”
Working from their London studio, each design is developed through a balance of engineering precision and creative experimentation. Materials are pushed beyond their expected role - glass, metal, wood and stone layered and constructed to create optical illusion, movement and visual tension. The result is furniture that commands attention not just for its form, but for the experience it creates within a space.
At the core of Duffy London’s work is a commitment to limited production. Each piece is released in carefully controlled editions, positioning the studio firmly at the top end of contemporary design. Their work is specified into some of the most refined environments globally - from private residences and architectural interiors to superyachts and aviation spaces - where originality, presence and craftsmanship are essential.
Underlying the work is a sense of curiosity and play - a belief that design should surprise, engage and challenge expectation. It’s captured in Duffy’s own words: “Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.” That spirit runs through the studio’s output, where technical precision meets imagination without constraint.
Duffy London creates furniture with presence. These are centrepiece works - engineered with precision, designed to hold attention, and built for the most considered interiors anywhere in the world.
