Ian Marlow
Contemporary Sculpture | Light & Movement | Natural Form
Ian Marlow creates dynamic sculptures in stainless steel and glass, shaped by a strong connection to the natural world. His work is defined by flowing forms and reflective surfaces that respond to light and movement, creating pieces that shift visually throughout the day and interact with their surroundings.
Based in Somerset, Ian began his sculptural career working in stone before moving into metal and glass, where he developed a more fluid and expressive approach to form. His work continues to draw on natural influences such as leaves, flowers and seedheads, often reinterpreted at scale to emphasise structure, rhythm and line.
Working primarily in stainless steel and glass, Ian develops sculptures that balance strength with visual lightness. The reflective qualities of the steel allow each piece to adapt to its environment, making them equally suited to traditional garden settings and contemporary architectural spaces.
A member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, Ian exhibits widely across the UK and Europe and is regularly commissioned for both private and corporate projects. His work is recognised for its ability to combine scale, movement and material to create sculpture that holds presence while remaining visually fluid and responsive.
