Jane Shaw
Bronze Sculpture | Wildlife & Animal Forms | Expressive, Gestural, Alive
Jane Shaw sculpts with instinct and energy, capturing the movement and emotion of animals through fluid, gestural marks in bronze. Whether working on wildlife, domestic subjects, or equestrian forms, her pieces are immediate, characterful, and full of life - built to be felt as much as seen.
Inspired by the natural world and often working directly from observation, Jane’s work doesn’t seek perfection - it seeks truth. “Ugly is beautiful,” she says, embracing the rawness and individuality of every subject. Now based in Dorset, she creates both indoor and large-scale outdoor bronzes, with a permanent display in her garden studio.
Bronze vs Bronze Resin
Jane’s sculptures are available in both traditional foundry-cast bronze and bronze resin. Bronze, created via the lost-wax process, offers a deeper, more enduring patina and greater weight - it ages beautifully and lasts for generations. Bronze resin (cold cast bronze) provides a more accessible option with faster turnaround, ideal for outdoor settings or larger formats. Both are finished to Jane’s exacting standards, with medium choice depending on scale, setting, and budget.
