Marie Ackers
Animal Sculpture | Line & Essence | Timeless Elegance
Marie Ackers is a sculptor whose work distils movement into graceful geometry and emotional resonance. Horses, dogs, and wildlife emerge not as replicas but as elegant gestures of rhythm, attitude, and soul.
Her style is rooted in the 19th-century French Animalier tradition but reinterpreted with a distinctly contemporary voice. She reduces her subjects to pure line and essential form - echoing Brancusi’s clarity, the sculptural presence of Henry Moore, and the refinement of Pompon, Calder, and Lynn Chadwick. The result is work that feels timeless: familiar yet entirely her own.
Ackers’ practice begins with small clay maquettes that evolve into carefully finished bronze editions, often limited to 8 or 12 pieces. Each piece is designed to balance strength and elegance, surface and silhouette, capturing both the physicality and the spirit of her subject.
Her sculptures have been exhibited widely in the UK and Europe, including the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, where her Walking Cheetah and Sitting Cheetah were selected in 2021. Collectors across Europe, the USA, and Asia continue to acquire her work, drawn to its poise, refinement, and sense of enduring presence.
Each Marie Ackers sculpture invites you into a moment of distilled stillness - a form honed until it resonates with quiet power, sincerity, and the poetry of the animal world.
