Min Reid
WILDLIFE BRONZE SCULPTURE | NATURE & CONSCIOUSNESS | STORY IN FORM
Min Reid is an award-winning British-Kiwi sculptor whose bronze works explore the beauty, strength and vulnerability of the natural world. Working from her studio in the Cotswolds, she focuses on wildlife - often endangered species - creating pieces that go beyond representation to capture presence, emotion and connection.
Born in the jungles of Kuala Lipis, Malaysia, and raised across Jamaica, Hong Kong and New Zealand, Min’s life has been shaped by movement, cultural diversity and a deep respect for nature. These early experiences continue to inform the sensitivity and environmental awareness that run through her work today.
Her sculptures begin as expressive clay studies, where character, movement and form are carefully developed before being cast into foundry bronze. Each piece captures a fleeting moment - quiet watchfulness, tension, or instinctive strength - with texture and gesture used to convey the individuality of the animal. Every limited edition is finished with its own unique patina, making each work subtly distinct.
Before dedicating herself fully to sculpture, Min built a successful international career spanning film, photography and the corporate world, including advisory work at European level. A profound personal turning point led her to refocus her life, with sculpture becoming both a creative outlet and a source of clarity and purpose. That experience continues to shape the emotional depth and authenticity within her work.
Her sculptures have gained international recognition, with collectors across Europe, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. She has exhibited at leading venues including the Mall Galleries in London and the Cotswold Sculpture Park, and in 2024 received the Chelsea Arts Society Visitors’ Choice Sculpture of the Year Award.
At the core of Min’s practice is a belief that art should evoke a response. Her work invites a closer, more tactile connection between viewer and subject, encouraging empathy for the animals she portrays and awareness of the fragile ecosystems they inhabit. A portion of all sales supports wildlife conservation initiatives, reinforcing the purpose behind each piece.
