Penny Hardy
Metal Sculpture | Reclaimed Materials | Dynamic, Textural, Energetic
Penny Hardy creates expressive, movement-driven sculptures from reclaimed metal — transforming mechanical components into fluid, living forms. Her background as a scientific illustrator taught her precision and discipline, but it’s in three-dimensional work that her fascination with energy and structure truly comes alive.
Each sculpture begins with the material: discarded metal, full of history, shape, and purpose. Penny repurposes this energy — shifting the industrial into the emotional, and giving weight and movement to pieces that feel alive in space.
Self-taught as a sculptor, she adapts with each new piece, allowing form and flow to evolve intuitively. Since her first public exhibition in 2006, she has exhibited across the UK — including the Royal West of England Academy, Dartington, and RHS Chelsea Flower Show — and now works on commissions worldwide.
