Richard Jones
Visual Journalism | Urban Time-Lapse | Digital Installation
Richard P Jones is a British visual journalist whose work navigates the threshold between photography, digital art, and documentary. Rooted in realism but driven by experimentation, he uses camera, code, and sound to reveal the overlooked rhythms of modern life.
Working with everything from long-exposure portraits and high-speed video to 3D data clouds and soundscapes, Richard’s practice is built on immersion and observation. His subjects range from Tokyo’s crossing points to the last coalminers of South Wales - each piece documenting movement, memory, and the human condition with depth and precision.
Collaborating closely with his partner Chieko, Richard creates layered works that ask us to see differently. His installations have shown at The Senedd, Ffotogallery, the British Motor Museum, the Museum of Wales, and internationally at venues across Asia and Europe. A three-time Human Rights Press Award winner, his background as a foreign correspondent still shapes his art - truthful, personal, and always in motion.
