Established in 1976, The Rocking Horse Shop is a rarity – a workshop where every piece is handcrafted to order, with no two horses ever quite the same. From their Yorkshire studio, the team of skilled artisans combines traditional carving, leatherwork and time-honoured joinery to create bespoke rocking horses that are built to last for generations.
Unlike mass-produced models, each commission is individually made – shaped from the finest materials, with meticulous attention to every detail. Whether a restoration or a new build, the focus is always the same – heritage-quality craftsmanship and heirloom value.
Visitors to the workshop are welcomed into a working space that reflects the spirit of the craft – housed in a Grade II listed cart shed, with carving benches, leather tooling stations and finished works on display. These aren’t toys – they’re legacy pieces, made with care, built for life.
