Xochitl Melanie
Abstract Expression | Emotional Landscapes | Mixed Media Storytelling
Xochitl Melanie creates work that sits between memory and sensation – abstract compositions shaped by place, feeling, and the quiet echoes of experience. London-based, with roots in travel and cross-cultural influence, her name – Xochitl, meaning “flower” in Nahuatl – reflects the layered beauty that defines her practice.
Working primarily in mixed media, she builds textured, intuitive pieces that hold emotional weight. Her paintings often evoke worn city walls, shifting tides, or the filtered light of faraway landscapes – impressions rather than depictions.
Occasionally incorporating ceramics and photography, her practice expands across material and mood – always with a focus on emotion through colour and form. Each piece is an invitation to slow down, feel, and reconnect.
