YASASHII YUKI (Original)
Kris Hardy depicts a young Japanese woman seated in a traditional blue kimono, with long black hair, a red patterned sash and her face turned gently to one side. A second, softer image of the woman appears to the left, partly obscured by vertical lines and layers of paint.
Combining oil and acrylic on aluminium, Kris uses shades of blue, red, cream and grey, with paint drips and white splashes creating a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Japanese portrait.
