BY THE SEA, PORTHMEOR 1 (Original)

A monumental seascape inspired by the changing waters and dramatic weather of Porthmeor Beach. Deep charcoal and blue tones gather across the upper canvas before opening into intense turquoise water, white surf and a richly textured shoreline.

The large scale allows the viewer to become fully immersed in the landscape. Sweeping layers, scraped marks and passages of broken paint convey the energy of the tide, while the broad areas of colour retain a powerful sense of stillness and space.

My biggest canvas yet, embodies the essence of St Ives' unique colour palette, an immersive and emotional experience, reflecting my deep affinity to the sea and wild swimming.
