HAAR (Original)

Named after the Scottish word for a coastal sea mist, Haar explores the moment when the horizon begins to disappear and sea, sky and shoreline merge. Muted greys, soft whites and pale earth tones create an atmospheric landscape in which distance and definition are deliberately softened.

Built through many layers of acrylic paint, the surface carries traces of movement, erosion and shifting weather. The subdued palette and expansive composition create a contemplative work that connects Heather’s Scottish heritage with her continuing relationship with the Cornish coast.
