INSIDE OUT (Original)

Inside Out captures a fleeting London moment where reflection, movement, and memory collide. Reflected on the glass of Lotus Mayfair in Piccadilly, the iconic Lotus Type 99T - driven by Ayrton Senna to victory in Monaco and Detroit in 1987 - appears layered with passing traffic, pedestrians, and the rhythm of the street beyond.

Rather than presenting the subject directly, Ray uses reflection as the compositional anchor. The showroom window becomes a threshold - blurring interior and exterior, past and present, precision engineering and everyday city life. The result is a visually complex scene that rewards time and attention, drawing the eye between sharp detail and softened distortion.

Executed in pastel with extraordinary control, the work balances technical precision with atmosphere, inviting the viewer to question what is real, what is reflected, and where the boundaries truly lie.
