Tom Saxton
BRONZE SCULPTURE | NATURAL WORLD | CHARACTER & STORY
Tom Saxton is a British sculptor whose bronze works draw deeply from the natural world - capturing animals, marine life and symbolic forms with striking presence and character. Based in Oxfordshire, his sculptures balance careful observation with a quiet narrative quality, turning familiar creatures into pieces that feel both grounded in nature and subtly reflective of the human condition.
Tom’s journey into sculpture is rooted in craftsmanship. After apprenticing as a pattern maker and model maker in the late 1990s, he built a career spanning more than three decades working across motorsport, automotive design, the film industry and fine art. This background gives him a rare technical fluency in shaping form and structure - skills that now underpin the precision and authenticity of his sculptural work.
Working primarily in bronze, Tom begins with carefully modelled forms that capture the distinctive character of each subject - from the textured skin of amphibians to the fluid movement of marine life. His pieces often hold a quiet tension between realism and symbolism, exploring broader themes of life, mortality, beauty and consciousness while remaining visually engaging and accessible.
Whether depicting a poised octopus, a contemplative skull, or the personality of a beloved animal, Tom’s sculptures carry both narrative and presence. Each work feels considered and tactile, designed to invite closer inspection while revealing the subtle stories embedded within the natural world.
Through this balance of craftsmanship, observation and curiosity, Tom Saxton creates sculptures that honour nature’s forms while encouraging a deeper reflection on our place within it.
