INFINITY (Limited Edition of 19)

Following on from designs first started with the Crescent sculpture, the Infinity design was again an experiment in simplicity of form and seeing how minimal a sculpture I could create that still have a high level of aesthetic presence.

As with much of my work, Infinity is a heavily influenced and inspired by the works of Hepworth and Gabo, who’s great skills managed to create truly beautiful forms, that were essentially very minimal and simple, but at the same time radiate an amazing level of beauty and presence.

I wanted to explore this quality, combining strung wire with a really minimal curved metal form, to see if the resulting sculpture could achieve the same kind of aesthetic appeal and presence. I was extremely satisfied with the outcome and think that the combined materials and the way they were applied worked perfectly.
