VORTEX II (Limited Edition of 19)

Having successfully explored this design at varying large scales up to as large as 3m in height. Thomas wanted to look at smaller interior table-top versions, so made this version using bronze bar and had a stunning artisan patina applied. The sculpture is mounted on a gorgeous disc of Carrara marble.

‘Vortex II’ was an experiment in the aesthetic qualities that could be achieved by exploring simple ratio’s and repetition. The principles of Fibonacci were followed in the creation of this sculpture and as a result the simplicity of the form creates a very beautiful and eye catching quality.

I have undertaken many bespoke commissions to make this design at varying scales, with this bronze version being the smallest, up to the largest so far being 300cm H. A variety of finishes have been used to make this design, from mirror polished stainless steel to bright powder coated colours.
