MOKUME KING (Limited Edition of 6)
Precision. Power. Presence.
A lion’s skull sculpted from Mokume carbon fibre, mounted on a genuine F1 gearbox selector barrel. There are sculptures that impress - and then there are sculptures that command attention. Mokume King is the latter.
This isn’t just a carbon fibre object, but a modern relic: a lion’s skull reimagined with the same precision and materials used at the highest level of motorsport. Created by Alastair Gibson - former F1 race technician turned sculptor - this piece pushes the boundaries of carbon fibre artistry. From its swirling Mokume-style layup to its bismuth alloy teeth and Formula 1 mounting hardware, every element has been engineered with intent.
Every detail is deliberate. Every finish is functional. Every angle speaks of speed, strength, and mechanical grace.
All living creatures on our planet are made of carbon - from the mightiest predators on the African plains to the smallest organisms in the oceans. Carbon is the building block of life. This sculpture takes an engineering look at the king of beasts.
Randomly laid strands of carbon fibre give this sculpture a disorderly visual texture, very different from the symmetrical twill weave we’re used to. Engineering methods, advanced materials, and precision parts from modern Formula 1 cars are all used in the creation of this Carbon Art 45 sculpture.
