In Coastline, Alison Holt presents a quiet aerial view of land meeting sea, where textured headlands curve into pale, translucent water. Dense stitch defines the rugged edge of the shore, while softer, open areas of painted silk allow the sea to breathe, creating a gentle contrast between solidity and flow.

Subtle shifts in colour suggest depth, tide and light, with lichen-like greens and muted greys anchoring the land against the calm expanse beyond.
