ROCK FORMS (Original)

In Rock Forms, Alison Holt turns her attention to the rugged meeting point of land and sea. Dark, weathered rocks rise through layered stitch, their surfaces shaped by tide, wind and time. The sea beyond is rendered in shifting blues and pale silvers, its movement suggested through dense, directional thread that contrasts with the solidity of stone.

Subtle notes of lichen and vegetation introduce warmth and life into the composition. As with much of Holt’s work, the scene is not a literal record but a distilled response - an exploration of texture, rhythm and endurance, where stillness and motion quietly coexist.
