GOODMAN'S HORSES RUNNING TOGETHER (Limited Edition of 6)

This monumental work originated in a major public-art commission for Berkeley Homes at Goodman’s Fields in London. Mackie created six bronze horses, each at approximately one-and-a-quarter times life size, for the development’s main piazza.

The commission drew attention to British craftsmanship and the history of the surrounding neighbourhood. In 2016 Mackie received a Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture and Public Fountains from the Public Monuments and Sculpture Association for the project.

Horses Running Together portrays a thoroughbred alongside a shire-cross, moving together at pace. Their contrasting physical characters and coordinated movement create a sense of power, momentum and vitality. The Goodman’s Fields horses are available individually in limited editions, and the artist also offers exact-scale replicas.
