Jemma Worsfold’s Power brings us face-to-face with Napo, the majestic male jaguar of Chester Zoo. His piercing eyes, rich golden coat, and distinctive rosettes are rendered with extraordinary precision using Faber Castell Polychromos and Derwent drawing pencils on dark grey Clairfontaine Pastelmat board.
Over 50 hours of focused work went into this one-off original, each layer built slowly to capture the depth, texture, and strength of this powerful big cat. From the velvety black of his spots to the subtle play of light across his fur, every detail draws you closer, giving a true sense of the animal’s presence.
