This sculpture in cedar, set on a solid oak base, stands as a symbol of new beginnings - a sunrise at the end of an uphill journey. Steep carved steps rise on one side through to an opening of light on the other, embodying endurance, renewal, and hope.

Created as part of the artist’s ongoing monolith series, Camino shares its conceptual lineage with Ascent - a larger oak sculpture completed earlier this year. Both pieces explore the idea of pilgrimage through life: a steady climb through challenge and change towards a place of peace and fulfilment.

The word Camino is Spanish for “path” or “way”, capturing the essence of personal journey and spiritual passage that defines this work.
