CREATION - 60cm (Bronze Limited Edition)

Creation takes the form of an egg - universally familiar and quietly symbolic of fragility, containment, potential and birth. Visually simple, yet deeply resonant, the sculpture invites contemplation rather than demanding attention.

The geometry of the egg is subtly complex. From the side, it reads as a continuous curve; from the sharper end, it feels more focused and contained; and from the base, it carries an almost spherical sense of balance and completeness. These shifts encourage the work to be experienced slowly and from multiple angles.

In bronze, Creation rests naturally on its side, softening its presence and giving the piece a quiet intimacy. Despite the weight and permanence of the material, the smooth surface invites touch, reinforcing the physical relationship between body and object.

Each bronze Creation begins as a clay original, shaped by hand before a plaster negative and refined plaster positive are created. This allows Parker to achieve an exceptionally smooth and exact surface before the work is moulded and cast using the lost-wax process.

Shown here with a traditional penny-brown patina, Creation can be placed in gallery, interior, garden or landscape settings. Bases and finishes can be bespoke, and the form can also be realised in slate, glass and stainless steel, each bringing a distinct character to the same essential form.
