Diaphaneity VIII by Tracy Nicholls — a one-off kiln-formed glass and marble sculpture. Two panels of opaque white glass rest on a marble base, their surface pierced by an intricate lace-like web that seems to dissolve into open space. The organic strands ripple with gentle movement, allowing light to filter through and cast shifting shadows across surrounding surfaces, transforming solidity into a play of fragility and air.

DIAPHANEITY VIII (One-Off)

Media: Glass & Wood
Size: 50cm (w) x 24cm (h) x 5cm (d)

A unique kiln formed glass sculpture comprising of two opaque white glass panels standing on a base of wood. The delicate lace like design within the piece appears to disintegrate as holes form and puncture the once solid panels of opaque white glass.

The strands of these webs undulate gently, creating movement and depth while light dances through the apertures to cast shadows onto surrounding surfaces.

A calm and contemplative piece that would make a delightful addition to any space.
