LEAF SPIRIT (Limited Edition of 7)

Leaf Spirit is a monumental bronze sculpture by Simon Gudgeon, inspired by the calm, balance and sense of renewal found within the natural world. Combining the human form with organic leaf structures, the sculpture explores the relationship between people, landscape and the restorative qualities of nature.

The serene facial form is partially revealed through an intricate arrangement of cast Norway maple leaves, creating areas of openness that allow the surrounding environment to become part of the sculpture itself. Light, shadow and seasonal changes continually alter the appearance of the piece, helping it blend naturally within gardens, woodland and waterside settings.

The rich bronze patina enhances the texture and tonal variation across the surface, while the scale and quiet expression of the sculpture create a strong sense of stillness and reflection. Leaf Spirit is also exhibited at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, reflecting the sculpture’s deep connection to trees, landscape and the natural environment.
