ISTANBUL METRO #3 (Limited Edition of 5)

I was instinctively drawn to the graffiti-covered carriages in Istanbul. They act like a public commentary, giving voice and identity to commuters in Europe's largest city.

City Scans is an ongoing series examining the flow of transport and commuting in global cities like Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, Istanbul and Vienna. Using reconstructed high-speed video scans, I capture the movement of people through time and space -revealing the rhythm and pulse of each city. The work explores the blurred boundary between the digital and physical, where commuters become part of the system -absorbed into its data, pace and machinery.
