We had just finished a bedtime story when something bright streaked across the sky outside the window. We ran out and found it resting on the shed’s roof - a shiny, golden star. It must’ve gotten very hot while falling to Earth. We watched as one of its spikes slowly stretched downward, still soft, before it finally hardened in place. We brought it in, and now we have our own shooting star.
