APPLE - 90cm (Bronze Limited Edition)

Apple is one of James Parker’s most recognisable sculptural forms. Familiar and immediately understood, it carries associations with knowledge, discovery, temptation and memory, while remaining simple, balanced and quietly powerful.

For Parker, the form is rooted in childhood memories of climbing apple trees and collecting fruit. He shapes each piece by hand, aiming for a softly heart-shaped apple with generous proportions, gentle transitions and a resolved, timeless presence.

Each bronze Apple begins as a clay original, allowing the form to be worked intuitively before a plaster negative and hard plaster positive are created. The surface is then refined with precision to achieve a smooth, almost glass-like finish before being moulded and cast in bronze.

Smaller Apples are produced using the lost-wax process, while larger works are sand cast to preserve the accuracy of the form at scale. Each sculpture is hand-patinated, with finishes ranging from blue-green to Verdigris tones, giving every piece its own depth and character.
Available from intimate hand-held pieces to monumental outdoor works, Apple is suited to interiors, gardens and landscape settings. Each sculpture is signed, dated, individually numbered and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

Apple has also been realised in mirror-polished stainless steel and stacked slate, with each material bringing a different quality to the same underlying form - from reflective surface and light to layered geological texture.
