CALMER SEAS (Limited Edition of 9)

Jonathan’s inspiration: ‘Calmer Seas’ was developed quickly, from an idea, to a drawing, to a photoshoot. I just knew there was a way of incorporating the sea in the dress of some kind of floating figure. I had recently moved nearer the sea, visiting the coast often, and it became inevitable that I would soon begin work on the sculpture. I not only now had the inspiration, but endless reference, particularly on days when the seas were calm and reached out to merge with the sky. I wanted my figure to encapsulate the moments when our lives are in calmer seas and for that time at least we can relax and be at one with our environment.
