Leaf takes its starting point from one of nature’s most familiar and essential forms. Associated with life, renewal, hope and change, the leaf becomes a sculptural study in balance, movement and quiet strength.
Rather than creating a literal representation, James Parker abstracts the form into a gently twisting, three-sided structure. This triangular geometry gives the work stability, while the tapering form introduces a sense of lift and movement, echoing the way a leaf responds to air and light.
In mirror-polished stainless steel, Leaf reflects its surroundings, drawing sky, landscape, architecture and movement into the surface of the sculpture. The polished finish gives the work a changing presence, allowing it to shift with light, weather and setting.
Leaf has been shown in curated garden, exhibition and interior contexts, including at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and within a luxury London apartment. The form transitions naturally between landscape, architectural and interior settings, from refined placement to larger statement works.
Each sculpture is made to order and can be realised at significant scale, offering a strong yet elegant focal point for gardens, terraces, public spaces and architectural environments.
