SILENT SHADOW (Original)

Jemma Worsfold’s latest piece, Silent Shadow, brings us face-to-face with Neron - the breathtaking melanistic jaguar of The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent. His rare black coat, patterned with ghostly rosettes, is captured in incredible detail, every layer built slowly with pure coloured pencil using Faber Castell Polychromos and Derwent drawing pencils on dark grey Clairfontaine Pastelmat board.

Measuring 50cm x 70cm unframed (80cm x 100cm mounted and framed), this one-off original took many dedicated hours to complete. Jemma has studied every hair and shadow, bringing Neron’s power and presence to life on the page. The result is a lifelike portrait that feels as though he’s stepping forward from the background - calm, focused, and impossible to ignore.

Part of Jemma’s big cat series, Silent Shadow is a striking celebration of one of nature’s most elusive predators and a showcase of true craftsmanship.
