TEAR OF JOY (One-Off)

This piece began as an abstract form, but as the carving unfolded the patterned underside of the stone revealed its need for light. Thinned to allow the surface to glow, it naturally became a shell cradling an emerging sphere - a pearl.

The title Tear of Joy draws on Greek mythology, where Aphrodite, goddess of love, wept pearls of happiness. Like the pearl itself - born from irritation yet transformed into beauty - the sculpture embodies resilience, transformation, and grace.
